This website has been created with particular attention to accessibility and usability, following the guidelines established by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C), an international association whose principle aim is make web contents usable by everyone, regardless of limitations due to hardware, software, network supports, or physical and mental abilities.
On the one hand, a large number of people over the world (of whom about 500 million are handicapped) cannot access the Internet, or have difficulty in doing so, partly because of an approach to website design and creation that is often superficial. On the other hand, by following the W3C guidelines it is possible to produce websites which are accessible to everyone, without affecting the functional and aesthetic aspects.
In more detail, this website meets the “Web content accessibility guidelines 1.0” in terms of HTML 4.01 and CSS. The former deals with the uniform presentation of static and multimedia contents (text, images) while the latter relates to the layout and appearance (type of font, colours and spacing) to be used on the various pages. | | |
