CODE OF ETHICS
In 2005, Alitalia adopted a Code of Ethics and a Charter of Values, representing the cornerstone of the Company’s corporate culture and highlighting its awareness of social responsibility. The principles set out in the Code are translated into real commitments, governing the conduct of Alitalia staff and all activities ranging from business strategies to daily work, from internal and external relations, to concern for the environment and the community at large.
Alitalia views its Code of Ethics and Charter of Values as a sort of corporate constitution, not simply as an abstract statement of principles, but rather a set of real commitments to be respected in internal and external relations. These values influence not only strategic choices and single actions, but also individual conduct. Our commitments regard company personnel, customers, shareholders, and anyone who comes into contact with us and with whom we want to establish constructive and open relations.
Integrity is the underlying value of our Company, at every level of its organisation and in every phase of its governance. This is evident in conduct characterised by uprightness, loyalty, devotion, consistency, sharing and discretion.
The Code of Ethics influences the policies, strategies, conduct, relations and daily operations of all Alitalia personnel, thereby ensuring fair and efficient transactions. It upholds Alitalia’s reputation, thereby fostering trust outside the Company and enhancing its competitiveness. The Code of Behaviour is written in the first person plural using simple and direct language, so as to be a true expression of the intentions of all Alitalia staff.
