Rome, 29 June 2016 – Alitalia resumed flights to and from Istanbul following the re-opening of the Ataturk airport at 5:00am this morning (Istanbul local time). The decision was taken having received adequate security assurances from Turkish authorities.
Alitalia first flight will take off at 11:45 pm from Rome (local time) two hours later its scheduled 9:45 pm time. From tomorrow flights will operate normally.
Alitalia expresses its compassion to the families and friends of the victims. Alitalia wishes to point out that the safety of its customers and crew members is its main priority. Alitalia is therefore in constant contact with the Turkish authorities to ensure the highest standards of security. Following the increase of the Istanbul Ataturk airport security measures, we recommend passengers to arrive at the airport at least three hours prior to departure.
